Sloped armor provided excellent protection, wide tracks allowed excellent cross country operation, and a low silhouette let it keep a low profile. It was superior to all German tanks in 1941, and only met its match in the Tigers and Panthers that came later. Armed with 76.2mm main gun and two MGs, crew of four, speed 25mph, range of 228 miles cross country.
The model T-34/85 was upgunned with an 85mm gun in 1943, although the T-34/76s served throughout the war.
