This enlarged version of the Type 94 tankette started production in 1935, however, only 100 had been produced through 1939. From 1939 to 1943 an additional 1061 were made. Thinly armored, susceptible to small arms fire through the vision slits, and with room for a one-man turret to fire the main gun and one of the MGs, it was obsolete versus most other tanks. Later models had a 45mm gun.
