Ian Daglish for Pen & Sword
Profusely illustrated and well mapped with an excellent text this book is much more than a tourist history. Bluecoat was the VIII and XXX Corps drive to the west of Caen on the Caumont-Vire axis, it ran before TOTALISE. It was the third battle for 11th Armoured and the one where they felt that they finally got in right, tank-infantry training was already started and the attack was into more space than at GOODWOOD. Wargamer Ian Daglish (an ASL and ATS-linked man) uses the narrative not only to describe the events but to analyse them. Much as I enjoy the Delaforce books I find Ian’s writing giving me more. The large number of photos of both sides is simply excellent. Buy it now!
