Kevin Baverstock for Sutton
This is a very well illustrated book (excellent maps for example) on a single day in the life of 1st Tyneside Scottish at Rauray on the neck of the Scottish Corridor in Normandy. The Jocks were attacked by units of several SS and possibly Wehrmacht Panzer divisions, after infiltration, bombardments by both sides, and numerous events the Germans were pushed back to their start line and 1st TS won a battle honour. The book assembles masses of eye-witness accounts and analyses the battle in hour long slices that I found very informative. With each chapter using its own maps and accounts one begins to see some of the techniques one has read about turned into a storyboard. I can imagine the ASL boys are already on the case.
