The Napoleonic Source Book

Book

by Dick Bryant

Philip Haythornthwaite, often a contributor to these pages, has put together a treasure trove of data of the Napoleonic wars. Uniforms, organization of forces, details on many of the battles, biographies of the personalities and much more! America's Napoleonic War of 1812 is covered as are the naval campaigns and battles all in one book. Hard to find items of interest include the income and expense of the powers in the wars, details on the ships of war, gunpowder forumlas forthe various countries, translation of the hard to understand uniform color names, all the Marshalls and what happened to them and more. This gives only a slight feel for the material that is here -- open to any page at random and be fascinated by the data presented.
