Two Dragons

15mm Samurai and Vikings

by John Boehm

Two Dragons Productions, 70 Luck Lane, Marsh, Huddersfield, W. Yorkshire, England HD1 4QX, is a relatively new company producing 15mm figures by T.J. Hallam. Packs of 10 figures sell for one pound. Two ranges include Warriors of the Shogun, and Vikings.

The Shogun range includes 36 Samurai (including Samurai, Ashigaru, and Monks), plus 6 warrior monks, 6 Ningia, and 6 Ronin. The sample was a large drum with a stand and a drummer. The drummer is about 14-15mm head-to-toe, nicely animated and well detailed.

The Vikings include 15 variations and the samples included VIK 11 Archer with helmet and quilted armor; VIK 12 throwing spear, with shield and unarmored; VIK 14 advancing with sword and shield, unarmored; and VIK 15 swinging two handed axe, quilted armor. The figures are about 14-15mm, cleanly cast and well detailed. The last 3 samples are too short in the legs for my taste and thus have a dwarvish appearance.
