WRG has brought out the third edition of Tony Bath's famous book. Several items have been added; Fantasy Campaigns, Science Fiction Campaigns, and a catch-all chapter labelled "Odds & Ends". The rest of the book has been greatly updated from the earlier editions to reflect changes in the hobby over the last ten years. Missing are the fortification plan maps found in the second edition. For those not familiar with the earlier editions this book is replete with How To ideas on running campaigns from the simplest to the most complex. Much of the material can also be applied to solo campaigns. All periods are covered and there are extensive chapters on Naval Campaigns. Owners of previous editions will probably want to see the changes but there is not that much which is brand new except what is listed above. The UK price is $6.95 with, I'm sure, added cost for postage. WRG, The Keep, Le Marchant Barracks, London Road, Devizes, Wilts SN10 2ER, England. In the States it is available for $12.95 ppd. from WARGAMES, Box 278, Route 40, East Triadelphia, WV 26059-0278. Recommended to campaigners of every ilk. More Reviews
