That prolific little company in El Paso, continues to turn out excellent new figures. The 15mm Mexican-American range is now available. Like their 25mm range of the same period, most of these 15mm are very good. The range consists of 15 infantry, 15 cavalry, artillerymen and guns. The consistant casting quality, fine detail and historical accuracy are equal to this firm's other ranges. One criticism is that the gun wheels are too small - an affliction which is present in other firms, as well. The 12 pounder M1841 gun is excellent, but the 12 pounder mountain howitzer is much too large. The figures themselves are the standard Frontier and MiniFig 15mm size which is a little larger than the range made by Frei Korps 15. My favorite figure is the U.S. militia infantry marching and wearing a forage cap. The U.S. militia cavalryman wear sa blanket roll and forage cap, and would make a perfect mounted rifleman. The Mexican light cavalryman wears a helmet. I recommend this range. Frontiers' new catalog was due out in March of 1987. Frontier figures are available from 7343 Branding Iron, Canutillo, TX 79835 at $4.00 per pack of 20 infantry, 8 cavalry, 4 guns or 18 crewmen. More Reviews
