War-Game Library Maps

II Konigratz

by Jim Arnold

Recall that Bill Leeson published a set of War-Game Library Maps that were German Kriegspiel reprints. I though them superb for wargame campaigns. In a timely fashion (considering The Courier Theme Year this issue) he has just released another set devoted to Hradek and Sadowa Campaigns of the 1860s. Again there is a master map showing a 20-mile square area. This time the terrain is historical. Unfortunately, the graphics on the master maps are not as well reproduced as his earlier effort. This makes them a little hard to read. The good part is that the tactical detail maps are still quite fine. One maneuvers on the master map, encounters the enemy at area G3, turns to the relevant map, and there is the tabletop terrain. This is really quite wonderful. The Courier intends to sell these maps as a set for $20.00. Pat should be delighted although he will undoubtedly find something to quibble with! But rest assured, that just means he likes the product.
