Miniature World Maker

Terrain

review by Richard Bryant

The Australians continue to impress with their materials for wargames. They have been putting out some classy figures and now these people have come out with a line of rubber (or latex) terrain pieces that are just wonderful in their detail and durability on the table top.

The pieces come painted for very reasonable prices and cover the gamut from river and roads to buildings and walls all in rubber. The product is available in 6mm, 15mm and 25mm, though of course many are interchangeable among scales.

The pieces we have for review are road sections, river seetions (not shown above) Rough Ground and a barn. The road and river sections are the best we've seen (except that the river may have been painted too bright a blue, though not embarrassingly so they could afford to tone it down). The rubber buildings do not have removable roofs, a drawback more than compensated for by the fact that one no longer has to worry about dropping them on the floor or some gamer inadvertently resting his elbow on them.

Available from Battlefield Designs, 218 Bristol Dr., Chatham, Ontario, CANADA N7M 6K9; (519) 436-0597. Prices range from $5 to $50 with, for instance a 25mm River pack ofl 2 pieces going for $42.. Only web site that I have found is that of the Australian maker (whose prices may be different) at http://www.miniatureworldmaker.com.au/start.html. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
