Angels 15

WWII Air Wargaming Rules

review by Bill Rutherford

Published by Brookhurst Hobbies under license from AandA Game Engineering. This is an aircraft data supplement to the second edition of the Scramble! WWII air wargaming rules. This 64page spiral-bound booklet includes a 19 page summary of aircraft types present in various theaters, by nationality and date, which is quite useful if one's designing scenarios -- five theaters and 23 eras (e.g., October '43 - January '45 Philippines) in all. The remainder of this work includes an introduction, a page of notes, and a comprehensive listing, over 41 pages, of aircraft data covering almost every WWII combat aircraft I'd ever heard of as well as many I'd not, including many of the Luftwaffe '46 aircraft types.

I cannot speak to the accuracy of the aircraft ratings -- until one's played the game (which I unfortunately don't even have yet!), it's hard to judge what look, on paper, like pretty reasonable numbers... If you play Scramble!, you will want to took into Angels 15, as it contains all of the former game's equipment data! It's available for $14.95 directly from the US publisher at Brookhurst Hobbies, 12188 Brookhurst Street, Gardon Grove, CA 92840 or from their website at http://www.brookhursthobbies.com.
