review by David M. Soucy
GHQ has recently released it's 1/1200th scale model of the HMS Shannon, number 242 in it's Micronauts line. As usual for GHQ the model is very cleanly cast and all parts have crisp detail. Sails are mounted to the masts and only a small amount of fiddling was required to get the masts and stem castle on tight and square. The kit comes with ships boats but was strangely missing anchors. I don't know if the omission was on purpose or not but it wasn't a problem for me because I have so many extras from other GHQ kits. This vessel made famous in it's duel off of Boston harbor in 1813 is a nice addition to any fleet. HMS Shannon is available from GHQ, 28100 Woodside Rd.. Shorewood, MN 55331 USA. More Reviewing Stand
