Command Post Quarterly

Magazine

by Bill Rutherford

The Command Post (CP) Quarterly is the Game Designers Workshop (GDW) house organ that supports their popular 20th century miniatures rules system, Command Decision (CD). It provides an ongoing forum for additional WW II CD organizations - generally grouped by issue by theme, e.g., Das Afrika Korps, Soviet Artillery formations, etc. CP also serves as the GDW errata line, providing rules clarifications and reader suggested rules mods. Issue 7contained the first of a two part introduction to the Spanish Civil War (SCW).

In addition to providing the reader a reasonably (?) unbiased introduction to the war and a brief battle chronology, Greg, as usual, did his homework, providing CD organizations for just about all of the Nationalist, Republican, and German forces involved and CD stats for their equipment (next issue deals with the Italians...). Other articles included CD organizations for the French Expeditionary Corps in Italy during WW II, modern CD vehicle statistics and organizations, and a nice Battle of the Bulge scenario generator that is suitable for any battalion/regimental WW II rules. If you play CD, you need CP! Available from your local gameshop for $7.00.
