20mm WWI German
Trench Mortar and Crew

Figures

by Bill Rutherford

This set comes with two complete mortars - one in firing position with a three man crew and one being towed by its three crewmen. The figures are 19.5M on the Barrett Scale. Equipment detail is all there - though it's just a bit thick, it should paint up well, and everything is clearly identifiable.

The figures are well- animated, but there were a couple of anatomical/positioning problems: The ammo carrier seemed to have just broken his right knee and the two crew towing the mortar had their tow-bar imbedded in their stomachs (this really stood out). The figures have only light seams and absolutely no flash. Available from your local gameshop or directly from Brookhurst Hobbies12188 Brookhurst St., Garden Grove CA 92640.-

* The Courier uses the Tobey Barrett Measurement [BM] System to simplify comparison of figure sizes. The number is the height in millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of base) to its eyes. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L=light, M=medium, and H=heavy. Thus, Hs will fit in with other Hs and some Ms, but not Ls.
