Hurricane Floyd

Hurricane Floyd dumped 15 inches of rain on NJ, knocked down power lines, and flooded much of the NJ infrastructure. MagWeb was one of the casualties. We lost power and telecom around noon on Thursday the 16th, and only managed to get both back by mid afternoon of Monday the 20th. The good news is that MagWeb offices and its partners' homes, while taking some minimal water damage, were not submerged under 20 feet of water as some areas were, and all our records and computer equipment are dry. The bad news is that we were off line for 4 days, and are just starting to get back to normal. We apologize for any inconvenience and MagWeb should be back to full operation -- hopefully by the time you read this.

MagWeb Wins 1999 Internet Excellence Award: Media Category

When MagWeb won an USA Today newspaper "Hot Site Award" earlier this year, it was a "virtual" award--the only thing to display was the awarded .gif logo. But upon winning the 1999 Internet Excellence Award in the Media category from Technology NJ, we received a plexiglass and wood physical award (See news item: MagWeb Wins). Pardon my pride, but I'm pleased to know that tiny MagWeb is in the same company as Mercedes, Claritan, and other Fortune 500 companies.

And now we have something to bring to display at conventions and in our office.
