This pack, #17-11, contains 8 figures in 3 poses, weighing in at about 14MH Barrett, from shoesoles to eyes. All carry what appear to be M16/AK47s; weapon details are somewhat basic, so I really couldn't tell. Equipment is minimal (water bottles and knives) and all wear funny little kepis like those worn by the French troops in Chad. Detail, nicely, is restrained. Poses are conservative - one pose advancing at a brisk walk, one firing from the hip at a slow walk, and the final pose advancing at a shuffle at port arms. It may be my imagination or it may be their poses combined with the kepis, but the figures seem a bit thicker at their bottoms than at their tops. They paint up well and where else are you going to get modern African figures? Not cheap, but still worthwhile at $3.25 per pack from your FLGS, or failing that directly from their U.S. distributor, Brookhurst Hobbies, at 12188 Brookhurst St., Garden Grove, CA 92840. Their website is at www.brookhursthobbies.com. More Courier Reviews

Briefly the number is the height in Millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of the base) to it's eye. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L = Light; M = Medium;; and H = Heavy. H will fit well with other H and somewhat with M but not at all with L even in the same scale. thus a 27 M is a larger 25mm figure of Medium Heft.
