Battlefield Walker's Handbook

book

Reviewed by Dick Bryant

Written by Don Featherstone, arguably the most prolific author of wargame books and certainly the modern champion battlefield walker. Don has walked most of the battlefields of Europe Africa and America, both the famous and relatively unkown. He brings all this exxperience to bear on this great reference work. Every battlefield that he has been on is listed here with by period: The hundred Years War; Waterloo; The Peninsular War, The Zulu War, The Boer Wars; The American Revolution, The War of 1812 (Don was the only Brit I ever met that knew it had happened!), and finally, The American Civil War. Don describes the battlefields as they are today, how to walk them and what to look out for. This is a highly readable book, even of you never visit a battlefield. If you plan to, then this book is a must.. Highly recommended. Available from Airlife Publishing Ltd, 101 Longdon Road, Shrewsbury, SY3 9EB England.19.95 pounds
