The Reviewing Stand
by Jim Birdseye
Chris Gilder with The Connoisseur Range has just expanded its 25mmAustrian line. The Courier received a fairly large selection including A14b Line infantry in helmet march)attack, A200 Line Infantry in helmet charging, A21 Line Infantry officer in helmetcharging, A25 Line Infantry being wounded in helmet, A26 wounded Austrian soldier, A23 b line infantry in helmet at-the-ready and A24 Line Infantry in helmet flag bearer. They are rated as 28M'. All the figures received were in good condition, a couple had some flash. All had one striking feature, their helmets are really nice. The crest details are excellent. Most of the other uniform details are appropriate for this scale and are not overdone and exaggerated. They are visible but not cartoonish. The flag beare ris nice because the designer has the hands ready to wrap around the flag. The figures as a whole are well animated and the facial expressions are intelligible. The officer is especially nice even if a bit aggressive for an Austrian. These are available for $1.00 each from The Connoisseur Range at PO BOX 8647, Tampa, FL 33674 or by phone at (813)931-9428. The number is the height in millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of base) to its eyes. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L=light, M=medium, and H=heavy. Thus, Hs will fit in with other Hs and some Ms, but not Ls.
