MagWeb.com Analysis I inserted the 1999 Poll results for comparison to see the changes over three years. About 46% use a fast cable, DSL, satellite, or T1 access, about 42% use 56.6K modems, and the other 10% use the average modem. The T1 access is probably surfing at work during lunchtime, but it still indicates a strong penetration of the faster broadband among our membership than the country as a whole. Look at the growth of DSL and cable. For you, MagWeb.com must really zip onto the screen! When we started in 1996, we slugged all our coding, back-end processing, and other details to a 14.4 modem. And we haven't changed any of the basic operation of how we deliver information. I suppose MagWeb.com can now succumb to 250K worth of dancing logos, extraneous coding, and other bandwidth-wasting efforts...right? WRONG! We'll still make our code as tight as possible, our packaging as small as possible, and our delivery as quick as possible so you won't waste time. On the "How Often" question, the results are slightly different from when we ran the poll in 1999. The daily folks have increased three fold and the weekly visitors have increased too. It seems to me there's a "trend" (if it can be called such) here: MagWeb.com is an even better place to drop by and take a look at what's going on -- in part because of faster access speeds make visiting painless, and, we've been ever increasing the number of issues and articles in any given month. With that in mind, MagWeb.com seems to be one of those places to visit as a nexus for your contact for military history and related products, and even more certainly serve as a springboard for ideas. War, Warfare, and MagWeb.com
