Yves Buffetaut for Militaria Magazine
The text is in French but the pictures are worth the price alone. Although I could have done with better maps this is a very good account of the French and British counter-offensives along the Somme in 1940. The accounts of the French armour commanders with their steady litany of guns out of operation, tracks thrown, and tanks brewed show the problems well. However, as Buffetaut shows the Germans found the attacks very trying indeed.
