Arty Conliffe has published his first supplement to the TACTICA rules. It consists of a glossy covered booklet of 32 pages in the original TACTICA style. Four of the pages plus the cover are full color photos of miniature armies. Four pages include rule clarifications/explanations primarily intended for the new army lists included in the supplement, as well as a section on designing your own armies for use with TACTICA. The remainder of the book consist of 22 new army Iists for use with TACTICA including Armenian, Pontic, Late Roman, Goths, Huns, Sassanids, Late Byzantines, Chuzz, Bulgar, Arab Empire, Lombard, Saxon, Viking, Norman, Sumerian, Mongol, Hungarian, Hsiung-Nu, Han Chinese, and Early, Middle, and Late Japanese. These lists also include special information and references to rules applicable to the respective army. The new lists should help satisfy one of the most frequent criticisms of the original rules - that being the limited number of army lists and opponents. The tips on designing your own armies and designing historical refight scenarios should help in this respect. A second supplement is also promised. The cost of the booklet is $12.00, which seems a little high for what you get. It is available from Wargarmes, Box 279, Route 40 East, Triadelphia, WV 26059. Reviewing Stand
