Two Dragons has released five Viking figures as part of their Warriors of the Dark Ages range, VIK 16-20. All of the figures are cleanly cast and in well animated, three dimensional poses. All five figures are quite actively posed and avoid the stiff, relatively two dimensional poses from which many figures suffer for ease of casting. They are slightly smaller in size than 15mm Minifigs, and should mix well with these and with true 15mm figures. All five of the Vikings appear to have legs that are a little short in proportion to their torsos, but should paint up quite nicely and mix well with other Viking ranges. The figures available are a half naked warrior throwing a spear (16), a kneeling unarmored figure with axe (17), an advancing warrior with leveled spear in mail (18), a figure with quilted armor throwing a spear (19), and an unarmored warrior with axe and raised shield (20). All of the figures have little flash and are molded in different poses. The weapons are cast with the figures, including spears. The Warriors of the Dark Ages are available from Two Dragons Productions, 70 Luck Lane, Marsh, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England HD1 4QX. Reviewing Stand
