Review by Dick Bryant
Stenhouse Games has produced its 4th sceanrio booklet, the third in the AWI series, titled He Has Waged Cruel War. The book consists of 6 scenarios including Bennington, Briar Creek, Wetsell’s Mill, White Plains, Goshen, and Basterre. The historical outcomes of the battle are provided as well as any special rules needed. There are various “fillers” that give information on the period that are valuable by themselves. Maps of the campaigns that led to the battles are also provided. The only drawback in my mind are the scenario maps themselves. They are computer generated, and in my experience, unless you have a fairly expensive map program and high resolution printer to produce the maps - hand drawn and scanned maps are clearer. These maps are sufficient to their purpose and can be made out with a little effort. But in general, detract from what would otherwise be an outstanding work. Available for $11.95 from Stenhouse Game Productions, PO Box 1173, Greenbelt MD, 20768-1173. This is a new address, make note. Stenhouse has also upgraded its Web Site and is now at www.stenhousegames.com
