Minifig 15mm Prussians

Minifig Napoleonics new design 15mm Prussians. The Courier received N-397 Prussian Mounted Field Officers, N-336 Prussian Landwehr in Feldmutze Shortcoat advancing with command, and N-383 Prussian 6 pounder Field Guns for review. The Infantry come twenty-four to the pack while the field guns come eight to the pack and the mounted officers six to the pack.

The guns are cleanly cast and correct the old problem with Minifig guns by making the wheels the right size forthe carriages. The wood grain shows up clearly as does all of the hardware and there are ammo boxes with each gun. The guns fit together easily and had no flash. These are fine pieces of ordnance.

The infantry figures are also cleanly cast, nicely detailed, and rate 17M BM*. All the figures have smooth bases because the vents are out the backs of the figures. The advancing pose is very aggressive. The six of ficers come in three poses with two types of horses. There are two each Reserve, Line and Landwehr officers in the packs. I grew up in gaming with the old strip Minifigs and still field some for my Napoleon's Battles units. I remember the enthusiasm that followed the "New Minifig" lines when the came out in the 1980's, it's good to see that an old friend is keeping pace and issuing new "New Minifigs," and I will gladly add some of these to my ever expanding order of battle. These Minifigs are available direct from the company, Miniature Figurines, 5938 Carthage Ct. Cincinnati, Oh. 45212 or at better hobby shops everywhere. Minifig catalogs are $3.00 from the address above. -JIM BIRDSEYE

* The Courier uses the Tobey Barrett Measurement [BM] System to simplify comparison of figure sizes. The number is the height in millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of base) to its eyes. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L=light, M=medium, and H=heavy. Thus, Hs will fit in with other Hs and some Ms, but not Ls.
