review by Bill Rutherford
Continuing its series of WWII German support vehicles, GHQ has released this foursome. All of this equipment has been produced by other manufacturers, but never so well. The vehicles are right on in detailing (the SdKfz10/4 even comes with an ammo trailer, the first time this feature has been included with any model in this scale of that vehicle), and the guns are all crewed! They're not just little lumps, either, some are cast onto the gun, some are separate figures, and all look great. Rumor has it that separately cast vehicle passengers are soon to be released; if they're up to these standards, look out! The only drawback, if any, is that you're paying between $1.40 and $1.80 for each little vehicle. Costs rise as well as prices, however, and you do get the quality you're paying for. TheT54/T55 series of Soviettanks has finally been redone with theT55M and the T54 (not shown) and they're nice! The SA6 Grail and associated radar are welcome additions, as the only examples available prior to this were the old ROS and Skytrex models, both of which are badly dated; W40 is well detailed, cleanly cast, and matches my references. The T80 (also available without reactive armor...) is neatly done. The basic tank looks good and the reactive armor is finely applied. It looks right, though, understandably, comparison photos are somewhat scarce. Gradually, GHQ is filling in all of the gaps in their modern Soviet range of microarmor, and is doing a good job of it. GHQ Inc., 2364 Bryant Ave. South, MPLS, MN, 55408. $5.50 per pack of 5 (or 1 SA6 launcher and radar vehicle).
