review by Jim Arnold
England's Essex Miniatures continues to expand their 15mm and 25mm Napoleonics. On hand are Prussians from the 1814-15 period. They include musketeers, grenadiers, command packs, light troops, landwehr, and artillerymen. The command stand (drummer, officer, flagbearer) is nicely detailed and free of flash. The figures' arms are tight to the body (for ease of manufacture) which takes away a bit from their realism. Otherwise, they are handsome figures. The infantry figures are in the standard advancing pose. Their cross-belting is prominently raised, which is great for this ham-handed painter and the muskets reveal an impressive amount of detail. The faces on the landwehr are particularly impressive. Sold in packs of 8 infantry, 6 command, 4 cavalry, or 3 mounted at $2.49 per pack, these figures deserve our consideration.
