review by Ken Bunger
Wargames Foundry has released additional 25mm figures in its Age of Marlborough range. The first release is a "Marlburian Gun Crew in Informal Tricorne" consisting of four artillerymen. They are MAA8-open handed, MAA10-pushing wheel and MA11-pointing. The hat is really a floppy brim type useful for the 1660s to 1715. The coat is open with large cuffs. The second release is MAE4 - "Marlburian Powder Cart with Driver and Guard". This cart is a one horse two wheeled cart with a rounded top cover. The rider is sitting sidesaddle on the horse complete with whip and a small fur cap. The guard is wearing a floppy brim hat and an open coat, walking with musket cradled. The cart is extremely useful for any Seventeenth or Eighteenth Century army. I've reviewed the Wargames Foundry range before and have run out of superlatives. These new releases are no exception. Their equipment is as well cast, and historically accurate as their other figures. I'm particularly impressed with the draught horse which has a couple of small tabs on each flank to hold the harness on split trails. This is a very welcome touch which appears in their Nineteenth Century ranges as well. Available from Pendragon Miniatures who advertise in this magazine.
