review by Tom Desmond
Received for review were a large number of figures which encompass both the "Roaring Twenties" as well as the "Call of Cthulthu" lines. In any case, all of the figures reviewed are suitable fora variety of skirmish games and some make excellent "personality" figures. The first batch includes Gangsters (20-111) and Police (20-112). The figures are well sculpted with a minimum of flash and should blend easily with other 25mm figures. These packs each contain three figures armed with an assortment of pistols and Thompson sub-machine guns. The other packs contained individual figures including a Gang Boss (20108), Ace Reporter complete with note pad (20-107), Adventurer "a la Indiana Jones" (20-101) and Adventuress (20-102). Again, the figures are well posed with the Gang Boss posturing, the Reporter interrogating, and the Adventurer firing a pistol. Although these figures have been available for some time now, they have only recently begun appearing in wargaming scenarios. A recent HMGS convention featured a Roaring Twenties skirmish game and several of these figures were used as an archeological expedition in a Sword and Flame scenario. The figures are available from Ral Partha Enterprises, P.O. Box 9116, Cincinnati, Ohio 45209.
