CinC

1/285 Modern Soviets

review by Bill Rutherford

8090 University Ave. N.E., Fridley, MN 55432, $2.75 per 3 pack (SA's priced differently).

CinC is as prolific as ever in their production of gaming miniatures. The above samples all have the well-known 'machined' look that is CinC's hallmark. The BMPs and the ACRV are very cleanly cast, and are far superior to the only other models of those vehicles available, produced by ROS some time ago. The T62A is particularly well done, as squat and sinister looking as the real thing. The cupola machineguns on the ACRV and T62A are nice, though they may suffer after the handling most models receive during gaming. The SA2 and SA3 are well executed, though they are somewhat estoteric (one of them, the SA2, is produced as well by ROS, but, again, that one's a very old model). Deployed at too high a command level to make their appearance on most normal game tables, we tend to use them during airwar games -- they're much more attractive than little counters that say "SAM" on them! Try your local hobby shop first; failing that, you can order the entire line directly from CinC.
