J&T Miniatures

25mm WWII Landing Craft

by Pete English

J & T Miniatures has released a 25mm World War II landing craft. The casting is a LCV (Landing Craft Vehicle) type that was commonly used in amphibious assaults. The miniature is a resin hull with metal landing ramp, coxswains compartment and a half dozen smaller attachments such as funnels and davits. The craft measures 10 ½” by 3 ¼” overall, with a transport area for figures and / or vehicles that is 6 ¾” by 2 ½”. There is good detail without becoming overwhelming (i.e.: not every rivet is cast, but enough detail you know what the miniature is). I compared the casting with 20mm figures and it is too large, but is perfect for the 28mm figure scale (25mm Heroic I think is another term for the scale) that is currently being produced by many manufactures for World War II. Very little assembly is required, really only the coxswains housing.

The miniature is very durable and will stand up to the rigours of a “Storm Landing” on the game table. Available from J & T Miniatures, P.O. Box 3311, Lilburn, Georgia 30047 or view the item at their great web site at jandtminiatures.com. Catalog number: MWW2-02 at a cost of $45.
