GHQ continues to release new models in its Micronauts line of 1/2400 scale naval miniatures. The latest release is the Japanese cruiser Chokai as she appeared in 1942. Chokai was a heavy cruiser that was active for most of the war until her loss at Leyte Gulf in 1944. Her sister ship Maya would also have looked the same in 1942-43. The model is very clean with minimal flash and is very easy to assemble. The main hull is one piece with turrets, stacks, and superstructure needing to be installed. Some of the holes for the turrets to sit in may need cleaning out. Chokai is another great example of GHQ’s line of naval miniatures. The price is $8.95 and it is available directly from GHQ. GHQ now supports on-line ordering at ghqmodels.com, they can also be ordered by phone at 1-800-289-1945. Unlike many other miniatures GHQ’s are also available in hobby stores. The address is GHQ, 28100 Woodside Rd, Shorewood, MN 55331-2693. More Reviews
