Big Battles for Little Hands

Rules

by Dick Bryant

This 141 page booklet is ideal for getting your young children into wargaming! It starts out with a introduction to wargaming, with a short history of the hobby and goes on to describe in straightforward terms the basic tactics, the various types of soldiers and units used in wargaming. Basic terms like flank, central position, etc and the maneuvers are defined and described. There are basic rules, scenarios a painting guide – in short, everything that is the basic knowledge needed to participate in this great hobby. After 35 years in this hobby, I found it a fun and informative read.

This is NOT only for your children, but for anyone who wants to get into the hobby or who has been on the periphery and wants to refresh. I highly recommend that every club who is recruiting new members keep several of these on hand to lend out to them (or perhaps purchase one as part of a newbies membership). Written by John Surdu and Rob dean with the help of the H.A.W.K.S wargame club, it is produced by LMW Works in Amherst NY. Available for $25 from LMW Works, PO Box 844, Amherst NY 14226.
