25mm War of Spanish Succession

Figures

Reviewed by Dan Schorr

Received for review from Bob Hagerty of Imperialist Enterprises are French Horse and Dragoons from his War of Spanish Succession Range. Measuring just under 25M, Barrett Measure, the figures are nicely sculpted and detailed. It is apparent that every attempt has been made to have the figures in the correct uniform. The Dragoons come in both cloth and fur caps, and the dragoon drummers carry the unique dragoon drum which was used through 1710 when the infantry style drum was issued. The dismounted dragoon figure has the plug bayonet - a nice touch. The troopers of horse come with either drawn sword or pistol, both with aiguillette on the right shoulder. The metal is sufficiently pliable so that the sword and pistol arm can be moved to provide some variety . All of the mounted figures are two-piece, and come with a choice of one of three horse types: two heavy, walking and running, and a medium trotting. Each of these come in a number of variants. The range also includes English mounted and foot, Austrian/German Empire foot and cuirassier and Prussian foot. The similarity of uniforms of this period means that most armies can be built from the figures available, and more are on the way. Price per figure is very reasonable for 25mm - $.85 for foot, $1.00 foot command, $2.00 for mounted including horse and $2.50 for mounted command.
