New from Brittania are a range of early war British and German WWI infantry; I've seen 17 types so far, including wounded, dead, several advancing, and several firing poses. These troops measure 20M on the Barrett scale. They're in quite convincing poses, generally relaxed, with good animation. Detailing is plentiful. Equipment and weapons are clearly defined, if a bit oversize. Once you apply paint, these troops do tone down a bit and look quite nice on the table, though they will tend to overwhelm the old Airfix WWI armies you likely already own. Brittania miniatures are available from your local game store or Elite Miniatures who supplied the samples. - BILL RUTHERFORD. More Reviews

The number is the height in millimeters from the bottom of the figure's foot (top of base) to its eyes. The letter refers to the "heft" of the figure: L=light, M=medium, and H=heavy. Thus, Hs will fit in with other Hs and some Ms, but not Ls.
