Jacobite

15mm Sung Chinese Infantry

Reviewed by John Boehm

The Jacobite 15mm Sung Chinese Infantry submitted for review are part of their Feudal range offered as opponents or allies for their Mongols. The figures are 15M on the BarretT scale. They are cleanly cast with little flash, and unlike earlier generations of Jacobite figures are cast in a more flexible metal than older figures which were often somewhat brittle. The figures submitted for review consisted of foot bowmen, infantry spearmen and infantry with javelins. The infantry come 12 to a pack and cavalry five to a pack. There are five infantry packs and two cavalry, plus infantry and cavalry command, and three types of artillery crew with four different types of artillery. Most of the packs are $4.00, with command packs being $2.50 and the artillery $5.00 or $6.00 depending on type. There are no variations in position in the packs. The figures provided are moderately and in action possesses. Their uniforms and equipment would appear to be consistent with my limited knowledge of ancient or medieval Chinese troops. In all they appear to be a reasonable value for the money. They are available from Simtac, Inc., 15G Colton Road, East Lyme, CT 06333.
