This line is called Victoria's Enemies. The sample set is Mix Pack #14 - Mahdist Ansar Riflemen which consists of (20 figures - 2 each of VE(E) 1-10). A very nice mix of 10 different poses - running (6), kneeling (6), firing (2), and advancing (6) riflemen. These figures will make a nice addition to any army of Mahdists; each is a little gem. Each pair of like poses has a face different from the other pairs - various beards or clean shaven. Very fine details, even the ubiquitous patch work of the Ansars is inscribed along with nice bandoleers and weapons. Too bad there are none with skull caps for even more variety. As it is, since all have turbans they might do double duty as Pathans or other North West Frontier types. These figures are very compatible with Essex, maybe a true 15M on the Barrett Scale but most are kneeling or crouching so hard to measure. Available from Brookhurst Hobbies - see their advt elsewhere in this issue for their address. - More Reviews
