Game: Stalingrad Pocket IISoviet: Peter Searle Report by: Peter Searle War Story: Peter playing the Red Army won in the 8th turn. The pocket at Stalingrad closed in the 5th turn. The Germans conceded as supplies were not sufficient to maintain occupation in city hexes. The air fields were overrun, and the Soviet defenses were too strong for the German counterattacks. The German mobile defenses were excellent, but were overwhelmed by the Russians. Other Remarks: The Katyushas were held in reserved and not used in the first phase.
