Game: Crusader (full scenario)Allies: Jim Thomas Report by: both players At right: Joe Sylvester and Jim Thomas playing Crusader. War Story: Peter (Axis) was a little hesitant on his first turn. After I succumbed to 'Jock Column' Feurr and lost a number of units with foolish raids, he massed his armor and artillery and pushed me into a corner. Good play that shows a rookie in the series but with other gaming experience can be deadly quickly. Other Remarks: (from Pete) I really like having the combat and barrage table right on the map. The exploitation phase makes this a very fluid game and really gives a ÒcommanderÓ the advantage of maneuver. Great game! Game: Crusader, Scenario 4Axis: Peter Searle At right: Matthias Hardel and John Katz. Matthias (from Germany) almost but not quite won the 'Travelled Furthest' prize...the South Africans cleaned that one up! Report by: Peter Searle War Story: Peter, playing the Axis, won. German infantry destroyed Commonwealth infantry/armor in close proximity of Tobruk. German armor counterattacked, inflicting heavy losses on British armour. Other Remarks: The British armour was too dispersed to make an impact on the Germans. The British should probably make use of the Via Balbia to approach Tobruk and concentrate their armour.
