Game: A Raging StormOne side: Matthias Hardel, Joe Sylvester Report by: Clair Conzelman At right: A Raging Storm -- Clair holds court over his 3-D map. War Story: We fought through the end of the 0600 turns, about two hours per turn. the Germans ignored 3 Bde in the east and used a pincer attack which met at the Dung Farm and Aprilla, cutting of 3rd Bde by dawn. The British defense was tenacious, destroying over 300 German steps by dawn. but German infantry cut the Carroceto-Aprilla road before the Sherman battalion could ride to the rescue, and lost the Dung Farm, with Aprilla and Carocetto under close assault. The British lost over 200 infantry/MG steps, mostly in the Guard Bde, with 5 Gren, 1 Scots, and 6 Highlanders being overrun. All the German tanks were used on the south flank, assisting the assaults on the Dung Farm and Aprilia. Other Remarks: Wonderful experience by all. This is a great "heavy" infantry game, with may styles of tactics possible. Looking ahead, the GE would still need to destroy most of 3 Bde to win, and exit three Bns and tanks to the south. If the Brits could prevent either one, a draw would probably result. Would be great action to the very end. Remarks from Mathias Hardel: My best wargaming experience in 15 years of wargaming. HomerCon is a blast, worth a trip from Germany for its own sake. Thanks very much, Dean & Company. More HomerCon
