Report by: both players At right: Bloody Roads South War Story: Tom writes: The Union Army held on by their fingernails on the first day (4/6/62). Superior Confederate morale really seemed to tell. Buell does not appear to want to get into the fight (or he's taking a slow boat to Pittsburg Landing). Still at 4:30 in the afternoon the Army of Tennessee seemed to hold the key geographic locations. Then, in a dramatic turn of events the Southern army blew open a hole in the Hornet's Nest, till then stubbornly held, only to be unable to exploit that advantage when Polk's people decided against further attacks. Mike writes: The glorious Rebel army went forth in grand style, overrunning much of Sherman's Division and wounding Sherman. I finally got something resembling a coordinated assault going and then Tom surprised me with a left flank with Wallace's Division and shredded Breckenridge's division. So Tom had a nice-looking line full of nasty artillery along the Hornet's Nest that I had to assault head-on. Bummer. Then I blew a nice little hole in the Hornet's Nest . . . and Polk crapped his CAS. Twilight. Game over. Rebs whipped. More HomerCon
