By Jean-Paul Pallud, published by Osprey, 27A Floral St., London, WC2E9DP, 64 pgs incl. 1 of translations, $9.95. Pallud's work is a narrative of the '44 Ardennes campaign, specifically of the trials and tribulations of Peiper's and Skorzeny's units, Kampfgruppe Peiper and PzBde 150, respectively. The 36 pages of text is well written and detailed; organizational tables and equipment lists are provided for each formation. Prof use photo coverage is provided of the battles of these two units, including many pictures of the Panther/M10 used by Skorzeny's troops. The 12 pages of color plates are well done. Numerous armored vehicles and infantry are portrayed - interestingly, several of the plates are taken from photos appearing in the book. As usual, the descriptions of the plates (11 pages of them!) provide much of the real value of the book; not a part of the overall narrative, they provide the informative anecdotes and bits of detail that set this title apart from simply being another battle narrative. Highly recommended for the gamer or modeller. More Reviews
