Frying Pan and Blanket has released a War of 1812 line. Having written a set of rules for this period, it is delightful to see some new releases so gamers can enjoy 'America's own Napoleonic War'. These are in the one-time quite popular 20mm scale and is a very well sculpted line which comes clean with very little flash. The faces show good expression, the anatomy is quite satisfactory, and prominent details promise easy painting. Officers, drummers, infantry and riflemen for both the British and U.S. armieswere provided for my inspection. Remembering that even the largest battles were under 5,000 combattants on each side, historical battles could be recreated using these figures without an enormous investment in time and money. A set of woodland Indians accompanies the regulars to provide some ofthe colorful irregular components of this period that lend so much fun to tabletop battles. Four different poses allows one to create Indian units that look appropriately bold and bloodthirsty. If you have the urge to enter a slightly different period, Frying Pan and Blanket has made some very nice figures to support your effort. - More Reviews
