Falcon Miniatures

15mm Medieval figures

By G. Schneider

Falcon medieval Falcon Miniatures, best known for its fine line of 25mm Colonial armies, has expended its range to include troops of the medieval period. Knights in this range appear to be taken from the 13th Century; they are mailed and caparisoned with various great helms. Non-armored figures may be used more flexibly between the 12th and 15th Centuries. Mounted and dismounted knights come with a choice of detached helmets, weapons and shields allowing for the depiction of a great many combinations within a single range. Foot figures come in a variety of poses as well. Thus, this range seems ideal for small unit or skirmish actions as well as for larger armies of the period. Sample horses received are all without caparisons, somewhat limiting for knights of this era.

Mounted figures come as two piece castings with added paraphernalia as described above. Separate weapons also come with several of the non-missile foot figures. Poses are animated and anatomical representation though somewhat slender is, nonetheless, pleasing. Figures include enough detail to paint up nicely, and the variety contained within the range will reproduce a diverse yet accurate medieval assembly of troops. The range contains four mounted figures, 11 foot figures and assorted accessories. This range is good as it stands but could be improved with some caparisoned chargers. Prices are 6 foot/3 mtd -- $4.00; Knights foot -- 75cents; mtd -- $1.50.
