The figures included for review here actually comprise two subdivisions: an earlier range of 31 foot figures, 16 mounted figures and one Bombard drawn from the 13th and 14th Centuries, and a later range of 11 foot figures, 6 mounted figures and a Later Gun/Crew depicting the 15th Century. These ranges will reproduce any army of western or central Europe during that time. All figures come as one piece castings, relatively free of flash, except for artillery pieces which require minimum assembly. WRG's books on armies of the feudal and medieval eras obviously contributed to their design. Figures are nicely sculpted, anatomically correct and paint up to be beautiful representations of the troops they portray. I have painted hundreds of them to interchange among Sicilian Norman, Italian Condottiere, various Feudal and Teutonic armies and elements of a 15th Century Hungarian army. As most 15mm gamers already know, this scale and this era is quite versatile, and the troops in this range lend themselves easily to such diversification. I recommend this range most highly. Beginners may choose from an array of boxed 1,000 point armies, and more advanced wargamers will find many advantages to adding units or complete armies composed from it. Figures may be obtained from Alliance Miniatures, P.O. Box 2347, Des Moines, Iowa 50310; 515-223-6215. Other Reviews:
