Navigator

25mm Ancients

by John Boehm

Navigator figures are produced in England and have an excellent web site with pictures of all of their figures. They presently have an extensive range of ancients covering the Roman Carthaginian and Successor periods, and are branching out into the Crusades. Received for review were a pack of their Libyan spearmen advancing with spear over arm. These figures are 25 M on the Barrett scale and come with a separately cast spear and round shield. They are armored in a linen cuirass and an Attic helmet and are equipped with a round hoplite type shield. They would appear to be very easy to assemble. Figures are well detailed, cleanly cast, and well animated. There is actually a second variant of the Libyan spearmen in a resting position which may appeal more to some individuals.

These figures are available for $9.00 for a pack of six foot, and are available in the US from Miniaturewargames.com. Check out their web site. They are essentially an e-commerce operation. They can be reached at Miniature War Games, 616 Lincoln Avenue, York, NE 68463; 402-363-6617; e-mail–wargames@miniaturewargames.com. The proprietor of this business enterprise is an avid war gamer, and carriers a rather extensive selection of ancient figures as well as terrain and computer assisted rules. Navigator figures are highly recommended. To view their extensive line, visit their site at www.navigatorminiatures.com.
