Battlefront

WWII Blitzkrieg Card Supplement

by Bill Rutherford

By Fire and Fury Games

This is a set of new unit data cards for Battlefront WW II, done to the same standards as those included with the first expansion to the original game, that is, full color glossy fronts with decent photo artwork, printed one-sided, with plain white backs. What do you get? 134 unit cards and a Terrain Effects card. This last sounds trivial, but it’s reasonably complex card and it came bound into the rule book… Now it’s a separate sheet on stiff card – much more practical! The cards include 35 French cards, 37 German units (including one errata card, to replace a card in the original game, 21 Polish cards (lots of unpronounceable tankettes), 16 new British cards (lots of cruiser tanks and a Matilda-the-Duck), 24 Soviet cards, including four errata cards, and a generic Bicycle card. This lot vastly expands the fronts and periods one can “fight” with Battlefront, though there is of course, plenty of room for more – North Africa, the Pacific, and the minor German allies all come to mind…

Once again, the cards were intelligently chosen – none seem to be “fluff”. This supplement costs $21.00 and ought to be available from your local game shop. If you can’t find it there, contact Fire and Fury Games at P.O. Box 360, Burtonsville, MD 20866, or visit them at their website at http://www.fireandfury.com.

In fact, even if you are able to get the Blitzkrieg set locally you should check out the website – it’s packed with additional units, organizations, orders of battle, and such things – it’s a great place to visit! These cards are a must for the discerning Battlefront player.
