All of us looking for better terrain have probably explored using insulation foam to make hills and terrain boards. The mess of serrated knives, saws, etc has been daunting. I have tried some of the hobby foam cutters on the market, mostly found in the model RR stores. They cut the foam with heat and with little mess. Most of these are unsatisfactory if low cost or cost enough to put several professionally painted armies on the table. Along comes Hot Wire Foam Factory with various models that start at $17.95 for the minimum necessary, a transformer and a cutting tool. They have 5 kits starting at $89.90 expandable in increments up to the most professional set that goes for $174.95. The kits are all being offered at substantive discounts (the basic starter kit ($89.90 sells for $53.93)! each kit comes with a very informative video instruction tape. I tried all the tools sent (see photo) and found that the “sculpting tool” is the most useful for cutting hills, while the “Hot Knife“ is ideal for cutting river bed and ravines, etc. Available from Hot Wire foam Factory, 300 North G st., Lompoc CA 93436. Toll free (866)735-9255. or http://www.HotWireFoamFactory.com Highly Recommended. More Reviewing Stand
