I've a number of sample Irregular Miniatures WW I troops. So far, there are three French, 16 Germans, and five British figures in the range, with more to come. Average height runs 25mm from sole to eyeball; heft ranges from medium to heavy. Figure proportions are variable. The French troops are well proportioned, with natural, if unexciting, poses. The Germans and British, however, are somewhat flat not in pose, but in body shape, with somewhat round troops than on their predecessors, as well as vaguely unaligned mold seams nothing awful, but noticeable all the same. The figures are encumbered, accounting for their heft, and are in natural poses. Overall, the Marines impressed me more than the Japanese the USMC advancing bazooka gunner seems to have on his back most of his worldly belongings and looks as if he feels the weight... His sleeves appear torn off at the elbow and one can clearly make out his wristwatch and various buckles, etc. The Japanese knee mortar gunners are nice; the advancing gunner looks as if he wishes he were under cover and is nicely hunched over. Combat Miniatures are available in blister packs of six, from The Emperor's Headquarters, 5744 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60634. More Reviews
