review by Bill Rutherford
I've received two new packs of Combat Miniatures figures JA4 Japanese knee LMGs; and mortars, and MC4, USMC bazooka and flamethrowers. Though these don't have the MLR logo on their bases, the new troops strongly resemble, in Style, Combat Miniatures' earlier (MLR) releases. Heft remains medium-heavy and figure height remains at about 20mm from sole to eye (the Japanese are a pinch shorter...) I noticed much more flash on these heads. Uniforms and equipment are nice they look properly heavy, and have reasonable derail. Weapons are crude by comparison. There were some mold lines, but overall flash was minimal. These figures finish well; a coat of paint seems to pull them together. At $1.00 per figure, they're a cost effective way to expand your 25mm WW I troops. Available from your local gameshop or directly from Irregular Miniatures USA, PO Box 5125, Warren Michigan 48090. More Reviews
