Jan 14-15 : Staten Island, NY. Loyalist troops defeat a large Patriot raiding force.
Jan 18: Eastchester, NY. A mounted patriot force under Cpt Lockwood capture Col I. Hatfield. One of Col Hatfield's aides alerts the units dragoons, pursues and captures the raiding party before they can return home.

Feb 3 : Young's House, NY. A British/Loyalist (Delancey's refugees mtd (50)) force (500) defeats a smaller Patriot (360) force near Four Corners.

Mar 8: Salkahatchie, South Carolina. British/Loyalist troops under Gen Paterson defeat and capture most of a Patriot force.
Mar 14: Mobile (AL), West Florida. Spanish troops (1000+) defeat the Loyalist + Indian + Regular garrison (300) and capture the fort at Mobile.
Mar 23 : Pon Pon, South Carolina. British Legion troops under Tarleton skirmish with Patriot troops under Col W. Washington.
Mar 27: Rentowl , South Carolina. British Legion (200) under Tarleton skirmish with Patriot troops under Col W, Washington

Apr 2: Harpersfield, NY. Brant's force of Mohawks + Loyalists bum the town after a skirmish.
Apr 3 : Rheimensnyder's Bush, NY. Loyalist + Iroquois raiders (60) skirmish with militia.
Apr 9: Little Maquoketa River Trading Post, Iowa. Loyalist + Canadians + British + Ohio Valley Indians attack and capture a trading outpost/fort manned by French + Spanish + Patriot traders.

Apr 11- May 12: Siege of Charleston, SC. British and Loyalist forces (Guides & Pioneers- 54; NY VOL-200; Queen's Rangers -400 ; Prince -Wales Amer Rgt- 400; Vol-Ireland Rgt-300; SC Royalist Rgt-200) siege the patriot garrison.
Apr 14: Monck's Corner, SC : Tarleton's British Legion (150-ft+ 150 cav) and Ferguson's Rifle Corps (100) captures the Patriot outpost guarding the last supply route out of Charleston.
Apr 15 : New Bridge NJ. A Patriot outpost is captured after a determined defense by Loyalist.
Apr 16: Paramus NJ. A hard fought victory over Patriot regulars under Maj Byles,
Apr 24: Charleston SC. A Patriot sortie (200) is repulsed after a brief success by Loyalist and British troops. The only major sortie by the garrison before they surrendered on May 12.

May 6: Lanneau's Ferry, SC. , South Carolina. British Legion troops under Tarleton defeat a Patriot releif force under Col A. White
May 22: Caughnawaga, NY. Brant's force of Mohawks /Loyalists bum the town after a skirmish
May 22-23: Johnstown, NY. Johnson's Mohawks/Loyalists burn the town after a skirmish
May 26: St Louis MO. A Spanish garrison defeats a British force.
May 29: Waxhaws Creek, SC. British Legion (120 ft + 130 cav = 1 3pdr) under Tarleton defeat a larger Patriot force including regulars under Col A. Buford.
May 29: Winnsboro, SC. A Loyalist force is defeated by a Patriot force.

Jun 6: Elizabeth, NJ. A major British force (5000+) under Gen Knyphausen including Loyalists (2nd & 4th Bris NJ Vol) begin their advance. Patriot troops skirmish with the advance guard.
Jun 7-8: Union, NJ. Knyphausen's raiding force is driven from the town by Patriot militia and regulars after a fierce flght.
Jun 20: Ramsour's Mill, NC. Loyalist (700) under Col J. Moore skirmish with Patriots
Jun 20: Williamson's Plantation. Tarleton's force (British Legion-35 mtd; NY Vol- 20 Mtd Inf; SC Loyal Militia-60) skirmishes w/ Patriots
Jun 23: Springfield, NJ. Gen Greene Patriot force (4000) fights to a draw with Knyphausen's force (4000). the British withdraw from New Jersey.

Jul 12: CAROLINA CIVIL WAR begins. Numerous actions between Patriot and Loyalist militia
Jul 12: Williamson's Plantation (Brattenville) SC. A Loyalist force (115) under Cpt Huck were surprised by a dawn attack from 90 Patriots under Col Neal. The Loyalist were routed.
Jul 12 : Stallins, SC. A day fight between Loyalist and Patriot forces under Col Brandon. The Loyalist won the initial encounter but were defeated later in the day after Brandon had rallied.
Jul 13 : Cedar Springs, SC. Loyalist under Maj P. Ferguson are defeated by a smaller force under Col Thomas.
Jul 14: Pacolett River, NC. A Loyalist militia unit is defeated by a Georgia Ranger unit.
Jul 15-16 ; McDonnell's Camp, SC. Col A. Innis Loyalist unit (300) defeat a Patriot force (52).
Jul 19: Bergen (Tom's River) NJ. A British strongpoint repulsed an assault by Gen A. Wayne
Jul 20: Flat Rock, SC. Loyalist under Maj Carden are defeated by Patriots under Col Davie
Jul 21 : Bull's Ferry, NJ. A Loyalist Blockhouse repulses the attack of TWO PA brigades. Aug: Chillicothe & Piqua, Shawnee towns are destroyed by G.R. Clark. Exact dates unknown

Aug 1 : Rocky Mount, SC. Lt Col G Turnbull's Loyalists (NY VOL-150; SC Loyal Militia-150) fights to a draw with a patriot force (600) under T. Sumter.
Aug 1 : Green Springs, SC. A Loyalist defeat in a contest between equal forces. Patriots (186) under Col. E Clarke. Loyalist 60 Dragoons + 150 Mtd Rifles under Maj Dunlap
Aug 1 : Hunt's BlW SC. Col W H Mills Loyalist/British force is captured.
Aug 2: Fort Plain, NY. Brant's force of Mohawks + Loyalists bum the fort after a skirmish
Aug 6: Hanging Rock, SC. 500+ Loyalist militia (inc. British Legion 160 ft + 40 mtd ir&cav + 2 x 3pdrs; NC Loyalist Rgt-200; Prince of Wales Amer Rgt-140) are defeated by only 100 patriots.
Aug 8 : Cedar Springs, SC. Skirmishes around the Wofford Iron Works between units under Maj Patrick Ferguson and Patriots under Shelby and E Clarke.
Aug 9: Little Miami River Towns. These Ohio Valley Indian towns are burned by G R Clarke.
Aug 15 : Wateree Ferry, SC. British troops under Col Carey are defeated by Col Taylor's men.
Aug 15: Port's ferry, SC. Loyalist (?) under Maj M Gainey are routed by Francis Marion (250)
Aug 16: Camden, SC. A major battle involving British Regulars and Loyalist (British Legion 182 mtd inf/cav + 120 ft; NC Loyalist Rgt-322; Vol of Ireland Rgt-303; Royal NC Rgt-267), The British force (2400) routed the Patriot force (3000) of regulars and militia under Gen Gates
Aug 18: Fishing Creek, SC. Tarleton's British Legion defeated a secondary Patriot force under Thomas Sumter.
Aug 18 ; Musgrove's Mills SC. A Loyalist probe under Clary (South Carolina Loyalist- 200; 1st Bn Delancey's NY Rgt-50; 2nd Bn/Lgt Co Skinner's NJ Vol-50; SC Loyal Militia-100) was blunted by E Clarke and 1 Shelby.
Aug 20: Nelson's Ferry SC. Francis Marion's raiders ambush a Loyalist/British force.
Aug 27: Kingstree SC. Maj J Wemyss British/Loyalist (300) force fights to a draw with Marion's raiders (150).

Sept 4: Blue Savannah, SC. Marion's raiders (150) rout Cpt Barefield's Loyalist (200).
Sept 12: Cane Creek NC. Maj P Ferguson command skirmishes with Patriot outposts
Sept 14-18: Augusta GA. Col E Clarke assault captures Ft Grierson and Ft Comwallis but their advance cannot take a Loyalist garrisoned blockhouse. (Florida Rangers-100; Skinner's NJ Vol-50 + manned 4 guns)
Sept 21 : Wahab Plantation, NC. A Loyalist/British force (British Legion 100 cav + 50 ft) is defeated by Patriots under W Davie.
Sept 26: Charlotte, NC. Cornwallis's Advance Guard (inc. British Legion 120 cav + 120 ft) capture the town after a skirmish.
Sept 29: Black Mingo Creek, SC. Marion's raiders capture a Loyalist outpost under Col J Ball.

Oct 7: King's Mountain SC. Maj P Ferguson's Loyalist force (1100) (inc Ferguson's Rifles-100; SC Loyal Miltia-350; NC Loyalist-450) is routed by Patriot militia (1400) under Col W Campbell and 1 Shelby.
Oct 11 Ft George/Ft William Henry, NY. A Loyalist assault captures the fort.
Oct 15 Middleburg, NY. A Loyalist + Iroquois + Hessian + British force (1000) under J. Johnson & Brant fail to capture Middle fort defended regulars(200) under Maj Woolsey.
Oct 17: Schoharie, NY. The Johnson force (Butler's Rangers/200 + Johnson Greens/120) bums many settlements in the area.
Oct 19: The Johnson force (1000) rout a Patriot blocking force (200) under Col J Brown
Oct 19: The Johnson force engages in a serious battle with Gen Van Rensselaer New York Patriot militia. The British withdraw without being pursued.
Oct 26 Tearcoat Swamp/ Black River, SC. Marion's raiders rout Loyalists in a night attack.
Oct 29 The Johnson force skirmishes with Patriots.

Nov 9: Fishdam Ford/Broad River, SC. A night attack by Maj Wemyss (250) (inc British Legion 40 cav) fail to defeat Gen Sumter's force (550)
Nov 15-16: Georgetown, SC. Marion attacks the Loyalist garrison but is driven off.
Nov 20: Blackstocks, SC. Tarleton's British Leglon (170 cav/mtd inf + 100 R + I x 3pdr) is defeated by Gen T Sumter.

Dec 4: Rugeley's Mill, SC. Loyalist garrison (110) under Rugeley surrenders to a ruse conducted by Col W Washington's Continental Dragoons.
Dec 11 : Long Cane, SC. Lt Col I Allen's Loyalist skirmishes with patriots under E Clarke.
Dec 27-31 : Williamson's Plantation, SC. Loyalist routed by Col W Washington's dragoons.
Dec 28: Hammond's Store. Water's Ga Loyalist (250)
